someone woke me up when september ended

life is like something. something like this and something like that. lol!

october is almost over and it was an awesome month. i am so happy that someone woke me up when september ended! lol!

working my way to something

a lot of work for this month. sometimes, i almost quit but i know its just a challenge. i am learning, this is the better part of working into something new. out of sql scripts, reporting services, ssis and autosys. ohh...its not that i hate them but i just need to move out of my comfort zone. yeah! i may not know dot net well enough but i am learning. i know that.

lead yourself before you lead others

ahahaha! if you know me well, those words are very controversial. anyways, i am having trouble dealing with the other higher folks. i'd rather stop there and not give further details. but one thing that i need to stress out is that respect and change is not just being imposed, it is learned and earned.

running for the passion

when someone asks me, what's it with running? i always answer it back with "it's fun". it's fun to feel that you are running for something and out of something. if you are stressed out, try to run out of stress. if you hear someone which made you upset, run! if you are tired, get that thing out of you system by running through it. lol! and the most important thing it, you run for someone. so awesome!

i love you

october is very good month for me in terms of my tutut life! lol. yeah. despite heavy workloads, someone  i know and close to my heart is boosting me to be a better person. so happy to have this feeling - that someone is around you and willing to accept and love you as you are. no words can describe it. show it through actions.

free rave run

what can you get if you have the combination of contacts and passion for running? FREE RUN! yeah! my friend que sullano gavan registered me to run, ride and rave at manila ocean park. the experience is super fun. after few months i was able to run under the rain! lol! yeah! it was raining when we started at around 6 am but we gotta get moving. i ran for a 10k.

i had a good start, inched most of the people. however, after 30 mins i can feel a scorching pain inside my reebok trail shoes. suspect? blisters. lol. it's so painful but got to continue the race - in slower pace though. hhaayy. a lot of people overtook me - including an older guy. so sad and so devastating. i was so excited for this. from manila ocean park to malate area for two loops.

when i reached manila hotel, i can feel that blisters inside my shoes are really killing me! i am at the verge of saying - "tama na masakit na talaga, mag-lakad ka na lang!". nonetheless i know what to do, speed is not important, its the direction. when i finally saw the finish line, i saw the timer. oh my! its just 56 mins. i need to sprint my way through the finish line in order to break my personal record in pink run. i kissed painful goodbye! lol!

official time on my watch is 57 mins and 19 secs - almost a min faster. yeah! yeah! yeah!

pink run - oh my!

The purpose of Pink Run is very close to my heart. I don’t know – it just did. Pink Run is not just an awareness campaign for breast cancer patients but (I think) aims to raise fund for patients and studies related to it. So who in my family has breast cancer? None.

Except for my bad singlet experience, the event went utterly perfect. It’s so nice that I couldn’t say one bad thing against the organizers. We were properly hydrated, the route is well organized and the terrain is perfect. It was my first time to run at McKinley Hill. And as the name denotes, I should have expected a lot of ups and downs along the course. Unfortunately, I am not prepared for them. LOL! My limbs are aching at the middle of the course but I know I can do it. This is not just for breast cancer patients (and future) but for me. I need to run. I have to. I paid a big amount of money and prepared for more than 2 weeks just for this. And no matter what happen, I need to finish the race.

It’s so hard if it’s uphill. I hate it. Neither the downhill for it somehow pushes me down the crescent. Anyways, I still managed to finish the race. I even had a better time of 58 mins and 34 secs (organizer’s time) or 58 mins and 19 secs (my time). I sover love pink run! =)

i was @ high school then, when i found out that there is something like the boxer rebellion. it broke out october 10, 1911. this is a movement which aimed to overthrow the Qing dynasty in China. more of the context is here for i don't intend to act like a history teacher in this blog.

that was 99 years ago. and now, we have a new kind of revolution. revolution to change the way we think about philippines' pasig river. ilog pasig - as we know it - is a river that connect Laguna de Bay and Manila Bay. during the spanish era, it is a very famous transport route. however, due to OUR negligence it is considered dead (unable to sustain life) by ecologists. (source: wikipedia) . the operative term is negligence.   i believe in the words of my favorite author that we should not SAVE OUR ENVIRONMENT, instead we should SAVE OURSELVES. (well, not the exact words of course ahehehe). anyways, going back to the main topic and too much for info sharing. the kind of revolution i am talking about was initiated by ABS CBN. cool yoh! they organized a run for a cause campaign that is not just for awareness that we should stop polluting the ilog pasig but to break the guinness record as well. and the experience being part of the (hopefully) a record breaking event? asi, asi. neither good nor bad.

BAD - ahehehe. i should really start with the bad thing right? anyways, it was my first time to have my bag while running a 5K. yeah! because of the humongous number of people, all the space for baggage has been occupied. as in, oh my! its not a very good idea to bring a big bag. also, most of the people who joined the run are oldies. well, its not that i hate old people but they are not even running. they are walking which makes some serious runners awkward to run. last thing, the finish line experience is a zero out of ten. lol! you wont even feel that its the finish line. you don't have that sense of fulfillment.

GOOD - ok, i'll make bawi. lol! seeing a lot of people running for the same cause as you have is a very awesome experience. as in over! it's my first time to see a huge crowd literally walking (not running) in Buendia flyover. the feeling is sover. as i have mentioned in my previous statement, a lot of oldies joined the run, too. seeing them is a very encouraging experience. kahit di na ako tumatakbo, just for the cause that you are there for ilog pasig is fantastic. it is really a heart warming experience.

so, if ever you are going to ask me to join another ilog pasig run next year, should i join? i'll think about it first. lol! first and foremost, i am not a people person. i don't like places that are so crowded - yeah. let's see! i dont want to close my doors into something like this...

serbisyo ba ito?

salamin sa mata, nasaan ka na?

kamakailan lamang, ibinili ko ng salamin ang nanay ko sa Executive Optical sa SM Bacoor. doon na kami nag-pagawa kasi konti lang ang mapag-pipilian dito sa SM Rosario at malayo naman ang Glorietta. pero ito yata ay isang maling desisyon. lol! nagpagawa kami ng salamin, sinukatan ang nanay ko. sobrang tagal halos isang oras para maasikaso - sobra kasing dami ng tao. sabi sa amin nung babae sa tindahan ay isang linggo makukuha ang salamin pero tatawagan daw kami. nagbayad ako ng credit card, nakita ko ang nakapaskil sa kanila na kapag di naibigay yung salamin sa takdang panahon ay magkakaroon kami ng 10% refund. pagkatapos ng isang linggo, walang tawag. lumipas pa ang ilang araw, pinatawag ko na ang nanay ko. sabi daw sa kanya, ay sa sabado na lang kuhanin. dumating ang sabado, di ako ang nakasama ng mama ko sa pagkuha ng salmin nya bagkus kapatid ko ang kasama nya. nakuha na ang salamin. nung tinanong ng kapatid ko kung may refund  kaming makukuha dahil WALA NAMAN DAW KAMI SA TINDAHAN NUNG TAKDANG PANAHON. bago daw kami makakuha ay dapat nasa tindahan kami. wala silang sinabing ganung kondisyon nung nakapaskil. dinahilan namin na sabi nung babae ay tatawag sila sa amin bago kami pumunta ngunit pinilit nung kausap namin na yun yung kondisyon nila at wala silang magagawa. ang punto ko, para silang manloloko.

lumipas ang ilang araw, may nakitang mali yung nanay ko sa salamin. may dalawang tuldok na nakita sya sa salamin na nakaka-apekto sa kanyang pag-gamit. binalik namin. umabot ulit ang dalawang linggo,  bago nakuha ang salamin. hhaayy...isang buwan. isang buwan para sa isang salamin. saan ka pa? sabi ko sa nanay ko di na mauulit ito. sa iba na kami papagawa...

single na nga ako wala pa akong singlet

nung isang linggo, sumali ako sa pink run. napaka-ganda kasi ng patutunguhan ng takbong ito - para sa mga pasyente ng breast cancer. nakalagay sa website nila, kung magbabayad ka bago matapos ang buwan ng agosto ay ipapadala nila ang singlet at race packs ng libre. libre di ba!? galing! nagbayad ako ng agosto 31.

dumating ang setyembre 15, pinadala na daw nila. sobrang saya ko! dumating ang katapusan ng setyembre wala pa rin. dumating ang oktubre 11, wala pa rin. tumatawag ako sa telepono nila, walang sumasagot. nag-post ako ng comment sa facebook, tinanong lang nila kung paano ako nagbayad. nag-email ako, sinabi lang nila sa akin na may problema sa delivery - wala nang ibang detalye. dumating ang oktubre 15, nag-paramdam sila sa akin. sabi sa akin ay makukuha ko ito sa megamall ng sabado. ang saya ko!

dumating ang sabado sa takdang lugar, sabi sa akin ay wala pa raw yung singlet ko! naiinis na talaga ako. tumawag ako contact ng Effective Media. nagalit talaga ako, ngunit humingi ako ng pasensya. alam kong di tama ang ginawa ko. sabi nya, para daw makabawi siya sa akin ay magkita na lang daw kami sa Robinson's sa Pioneer ng 2 ng hapon. dumating ang alas-2, tumawag siya. pasensya na raw. di na siya makakarating. nakuha ko ang singlet ko nung mismong event na...

sa dalawang experiences ko na yun, nagalit ako. pero wala akong magagawa dahil ito yung tawag nilang serbisyo. kung nasa estados unidos lamang ako, may refund na akong natanggap dahil lubos lubos na ang kanilang pag-hingi ng pasensya sa PANGIT na serbisyo nila. as in, pangit!

nagalit ako, pero nangibabaw pa rin ang pag-unawa ko. bahala na sila, di ko naman pinapanalangin na makakarma sila pero bahala na sila. =)

october runs...

october is a very busy month for me. yeah! work, "personal" life and my passion - running.

indeed! as i always say, it started as a hobby. and now? its a passion! passion to strive harder and faster. i'm a dumb runner i should say. lol! dumb because i just run - no rules. =) . others have their routine and stuff, i don't. but as the time goes by, experiences piles up and lessons started to pour in. i am willing to share my experiences in the next few blogs.

anyways, i joined three running events this month. each one of them gives me an awesome experience to cherish. 10/10 for ilog pasig run, pink run and fun run in manila ocean park. be sure to read my next blogs! it will be a fun packed experience and awesome thoughts!
