Lorenzo on Lost Opportunity

Lorenzo's Time never fails to impress me. The story is becoming more and more interesting. I am loving it so much.

Last Thu, I have no work. Sorry, the phrase should have been - CHOSE NOT TO WORK. I still have my comp times so taking a day leave is not a problem. The wound is still fresh. Hahaha! And while they are working, I am watching Lorenzo's Time. In the scene, Lorenzo was talking to his pal (and lost brother) Jonas about lost opportunities. Here's their conversation:

 JONAS (J): Nanghihinayang lang kasi ako sa opportunity ng project na yun, nawala. At wala naman akong magagawa eh. Badtrip lang kasi, kala ko kasi sabi mo di ba? Pamilya tayo eh. Brad nga tayo eh. Kaso sa parang wala lang yun.

LORENZO (L): Hindi ah. Hindi ganun yun. Saka wala naman akong intensyon na di ka pagbigyan eh. So Brad, para maniwala ka. Sa susunod na humiling ka, pagbibigyan na kita.

J: Talaga?

L: Oo, promise.

J: Sige.

L: Ano, bati na tayo?

(sabay appear nila Jonas at Lorenzo)

L: Tsaka Brad, wag kang matakot mawalan ng pagkakataon. Magaling ka naman eh. Masipag pa. So, sigurado ako marami pang magagandang oppotunities ang darating sa iyo.

While hearing the conversation between the two, i almost forget myself. I was so touched with their conversation. It struck me so much and found myself in Jonas' foot. My girl and I talked about it and she was so happy how that program influenced me so much. Thank you Lorenzo. Go Lorenzo's Time!

giving up something

sometimes its hard to pull things up. if you're in the midst of great desire between two things, what would you do? latest episode of white collar shows the other side of diana. different from being strong, independent and firm woman.

diana: i feel like running into two different directions. and once i stopped, i'm gonna have to face reality. 

neil: and never stop running. i tried. in the minute you do, it's not just gonna catch up to you. it's gonna run you over. 

diana: what if you wanna stop running? 

neil: you have to give something up. 

well, its true. you can't have everything you want. most often than not, you need to let go of things that you want. i'm starting to love the latest twist of this season's story! go caffrey! catch them all.

kung maputi na ang buhok ko by noel cabangon

whenever i watch lorenzo's time, i always hear this song. the song was originally sung by sharon cuneta (i think). the teleserye's version was by nyoy volante. the video below is by noel cabangon which is i think a better version than nyoy. 

anyways, i really love classic filipino songs like this one. it's very pleasant to the ears and you could easily relate into it. hope that songs in this generation is something like that - catches the audience across all generation.

white collar

if there is something that i miss watching in american television, it should have been - WHITE COLLAR. i love the story of white collar. i even downloaded all season - 1 to 3. ooopppss! i mean, got a copy of all three seasons.

even before i enjoyed watching burn notice, white collar has been my favorite ever since. and when i heard that it was renewed in USA (american channel) for 4th season, i felt so happy.

for those who's unaware, neal caffrey (matt bomer) is a con-man. he's great in everything that he does. he can speak 8 different languages - including conversational swahili. here in the philippines, he can be called as "palos" - which means he can escape to barely everything. barely because there was one white collar crime agent (white collar is a branch of FBI that deals with white collar crimes). who caught him twice, it was peter burke (tim dekay). he has this problem of trusting his neal. trusting? yes. they became partners in solving some white collar crimes. see, peter and neal became partners - neal knows a lot of different things in white collar jobs while peter has the resources and proper intelligence to get things done.

i so love this series!

lorenzo's time

i can't get over it! in all fairness, abs-cbn continues to deliver quality teleserye. after budoy, here comes lorenzo's time.  

the plot and pacing are fantastic. i agree that this is somehow fictional and (as of this writing) far from happening but the "catch" is there. a guy who is head over heels in love with his childhood sweetheart who can't get over from the fact that they are no longer fit for one another. and a chick who's willing to do everything just for the sake of her only daughter while trying to move on with her broken relationship with her daughter's father. 

unlike any other "childhood sweetheart" story, lorenzo's time is different. lorenzo and katkat can no longer be together - that's for sure. they can no longer continue on their life together because lorenzo is trapped in a child's body while katkat has already grown into a beautiful woman. will they end up together? will katkat end up with the father of her daughter? i don't know. 

to top everything, it teaches a lesson that everyone knows - time is gold. wow! everyone knows that but only a few tries to digest it.

the theme song is good as well. it was sung by martin nievera - time of your life. often, the song by nyoy volante is being played - kahit maputi na ang buhok ko. its awesome! i see myself growing old with my girlfriend - kahit maputi na ang buhok ko...lol!

family betrayal

i love burn notice. the turn of events are overwhelming. from killing, bombing, you'll get some worthy words. it's a kind of show that i would love to watch, action, drama and some jaw dropping stunts.

in one episode, jessie found out that it was mikey who burned him. madelaine, being so close to both guys told both of them that...

you know what families do when people lie and betray each other? they suck it up and they move on. - madelaine...

and it is true. if you are family, you just have to accept people. you don't judge people for who she is but you just have to accept his ways. family is a family. people may leave you behind but family is always there to support you.

i love my family. i love my "neo-catechumenal" family. i love my girlfriend whom i think will be my future wife to start a new family...

picture! picture!

"all you really have in the end are your stories."

these are the exact lines from S04E07 of burn notice. believe it or not but its true. you can have a tons of pictures in your closet or a hard drive full of old scraps but none of them will tell the viewer the real story behind those pictures.

important thing is cease every moment. the picture below looks good. oh yeah! its in palomeras altas in madrid, spain. this is where the neo-catechumenal way started. i look so happy, right? i love the trees, its very picturesque. but, did you know that i stepped on a dog's poop while taking this picture?

by the way, i look good in blue and with my oakley. lol!

i used to be like some people taking photos in every angle. of course, i am a filipino! we love photos! but sometimes, we lose the other end. and that lose end is the very reason "why you are at a particular place and particular time".

it took me while to realize this.

thank you for handling the situation gracefully

it was a tiring day. i was about to call it a day when something popped up in my outlook for a meeting @ 7 pm. and the title has those 6 letter word that i hate so much - URGENT! being a support member, i need to deal with these stuff. yes. stress is next. all the peeps in the invites are indians - meaning "i am alone". then next more stress.

well, its better to talk to them today than to run after tomorrow. i gave them the details that our team need and they need. the conference ended few minutes before 7.30. informing my leads and manager is another case, it was hard to put it into words so it took me a while before i forwarded an email.

10.15. i was supposed to go online by 10. but i am watching budoy so i decided to make myself available after the teleserye. a couple of more minutes, i saw an email coming from my manager saying - "thank you for handling the situation gracefully!".

as in wow! it is really worth more than a month salary. it is really true that if you love what you do, it will love you, too. money is good but words such as those is more than worthy enough. God, thank you for your blessings.

burn notice

oh my! i started checking out this series when i was in chicago. at first, i thought its the same format as my  all time favorite white collar but it seems different. i love the twist and how mikey's team help people solve their problem. sometimes, it's educational but sometimes it is out of this world. 

in any ways, i love fiona. she's one of the people that i look forward to in this series. her attitude makes her hotter than her own awesome body. 

currently, i am at season 3 and still looking forward in watching some more episodes. yo yo yo!

i must admit it. i love the telenovela Budoy. it's getting more and more excited. it tackles a story of a mentally-challenged guy who finds himself in the middle of two socially different mothers - the biological mother - Luisa - and another mother by heart - Elena. Budoy is suffering from angelman syndrome. the Filipino-like plot is still there. Budoy was given to a caretaker because his condition is a shame to Luisa's family. he grew up in the hands of Elena. Later on, Budoy saw himself getting closer with one of the owner's of the school where Elena is working. Apparently, the owner is Luisa. They discovered that Budoy was their missing child -- aaww, so Filipino.

so what makes Budoy so special? his positive outlook in life. he has this charm that will make people think. later on, he became one of the most genius student in their campus. his rags to riches story makes him more famous. he's so famous with his line - Be Happy. Be Thankful. Be Budoy...

so far, gerald anderson - who plays budoy - impresses me so much with his acting ability. good job!

Yup. Nanonood ako ng mga Koreanovelas. Ang kaso, kailangan TAGALIZED siya.

Nanonood ang addict (addict sa Koreanovela) kong kapatid ng Princess Hours nang ako ay dumating. Naisip ko agad, hindi na naman ako makakapanood ng Trip na Trip. Tapos nakita ko yung episode na pinapanood nya. Ito yung episode na gustong-gusto ko. Kaya nakipanood ako…

Prince Gian: Minsan gusto na kita pakawalan. Minsan gusto pa kitang makasama. Kaya hanggang di ko pa alam ang gusto ko, maaaring bang subukan nating mag-sama?
Princess Janelle: Bakit para tumawa ka?
Prince Gian: Dahil sa masaya ako kapag kasama kita.

Hindi ako typical na romantiko na tao pero natutuwa ako sa mga linyang ito. Kung titingnan mo sa unang titig, parang may pag-kagahaman si Prince Gian dahil sa medyo makasarili siya. Pero kung napanood nyo yung buong Princess Hours, makikita ninyo kung paano siya nabago simula nang magpakasal sila ni Princess Janelle. Mula sa isang taong malungkot, unti unti niyang nakikita ang liwanag ng kaisipan at kagandahan ng isang mundo na di nya inaakalang makikita nya habang siya ay isang prinsipe. Kaya siya nalilito. Kung papakawalan ba niya o gusto pa niyang makasama dahil sa di niya alam kung ano ang nararamdaman ni Princess Janelle.

Para sa akin, Princess Hours ang isa sa pinakamagandang Koreanovela. Nakapanood din ako ng ilan, ngunit kapansin pansin para sa akin ang istorya at mga pangyayari dito.

Princess Janelle: Alam mo ba na sa tuwing nakikita kita nararamdaman kong mas malungkot ka sa akin? Kaya di ko man sinasadya nahulog na pala ang loob ko sa iyo.

May pahabol pa ako ano? Hehe. Sabi yan ni Princess Janelle kay Prince Gian.
