today is July 24. its Takbo.ph's fun run day. i need to get out of the house by 3ish. nag-kataon na may bus agad na papuntang baclaran kaya naman i am so happy. nakarating ako sa baclaran ng around 4.30 am. dumaan muna ako sa church for some blessings. =) . on my way inside, may parang gustong kumausap sa akin. i hate to judge that person pero kilala yung spot na yun sa mga taong naghahanap ng aliw. ahehehe. syempre, deadma lang ako.
pag-labas ko ng church wala na yung tao. nakasakay agad ako ng taxi. i got a text from T.A. nandun na daw siya. ahehehe. nakarating ako sa place ng mga 5. nakita ko agad si T.A. we had a little chat tapos check in na ako kasi 5.30 ang start ng race for 16K.
my first km is quite a little groggy. pero oks lang. masaya naman. daming nag-oovertake sa akin pero isa lang nasa isip ko. "direction is more important than speed"...just as long as i know and i enjoy my run, its enough. so carry on lang ako! takbo lang ng takbo and good thing is i have a perfect pace in a perfect time! dire-diretso ako until my 10th K.
after sometime (almost 11K) i saw the 10K event's turn. sabi ko sa sarili ko, "sana makita ko si tina". and i did! nakita ko si tina! as in so happy to see her in running event like this. after the race nagkita kami and we got this picture out of her cool phone!

anyways, going back to the race. i was so scared when i saw that 16K runners will turn right at mckinley. as in, MCKINLEY. known for its dreaded slopes. to think that i have already exerted effort in running more than 10 K, and here we go again! SLOPES! aaarrrggghhh...wala naman akong magagawa as of this time so I got to run! galing kahit paiikli yung hakbang ko ay takbo pa rin ako.
after running through mckinley, nakita ko yung mark na "2 KM to go". wow as in wow! let me spell it backward, WOW! takbo pa ako ng takbo. madami sa mga kasabayin ko ang nauuna na talaga sa akin. hhaayy...
when i saw the "1 KM to go" i gave all my strength to finish strong! takbo kung takbo. and i did! i overtook a couple of scores. di na lang ako nag-overtake dun sa last guy na malapit na sa finish line out of respect dahil almost at the finish line na rin siya. sige, pagbigyan na lang kita. lol!
sa finish line, sinabit na sa akin ang finisher's medal! as in! ang sarap ng feeling. may medal ulit ako! yahoo!
