real steel

indeed! one of the most touching stories of this year. real steel is not just some fight scenes. it tackles so many different things. i super love it. after watching the movie, i suddenly missed my dad. in the movie, max's (the child) father - charlie fought until the end. my dad is not here with me now to fight for me so i have no other choice but to fight for him. i am gonna make my dad proud of me.

posters, posters and posters

when I was in madrid, we were cheering someone from bicol region for he passed the nursing board examinations. yahoo! way to go! when i reached home, OMG! as in Oh My Golly! posters are everywhere. congratulating people for passing board examinations. but do we really have to put it this way?

first point, you think how many of these board passers will end up having their dream job? a lot of nurses find themselves behind the bars of some f^^k-stricken hospitals that instead of giving these poor and full spirited people their first paychecks they ask MONEY for a piece paper saying they are through with OJT. how sick!

second, most of these posters bear the names of politicians - yes POLITICIANS. they are still alive and they use this time to promote themselves for the next election. how sick! as in super sick! i am expecting them to pass some laws to protect these nurses and not to spend their time going to printing shops to have these posters done. gggrrr...por pabor!

lastly, nurses are one of those courses/majors that can do more than they are expected to do. hopefully, they took their lessons seriously and not thinking when to leave our country. face it, most of the peeps take nursing as their doorstep to canada, japan, us and other countries. PEOPLE WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IF YOU HAVE YOUR GOALS SET ON THE RIGHT WAY. yun lang!

lt. colonel manny pacquiao

i am not a fan of manny pacquiao. lol! i always say that. during my stay in chicago, most of my mexican friends know him and idolize him but not me. i hate him when he started doing legislative stuff, movies and singing. but for the issue with him about promotion as a reservist? he got me at his back on it.

i don't think that being promoted to lt. colonel should be questioned. first, that is what the reservist is for. again, reservist. it doesn't mean that he is going to assume the position right there and then. his eligibility in the position is also an ace. in fact, HE IS MORE DETERMINED THAN MOST OF THE PEEPS IN THE ACTIVE SERVICE. he is more disciplined and oozing with ability to get things done. i think he's really good in the position. as one of the high ranking officials in AFP said, manny can be the head of the battalion that will spearhead the sports and fitness activities. he's good at it!

second, he's the people's champ. i may not like him but most of the filipinos do. police officials know that. even criminals stop their wrong doing just to watch his fight, right? he can be an advocate of peace and order. and being a reservist is an awesome way to do it. people will look up to him. a living hero will lead an advocacy through good actions and deed.

lastly, education isn't important on this. some officials are questioning him saying that he doesn't have any educational background. this makes me very mad. they are belittling people. so eye-poor (matapobre) lol! most of our dead heroes did not have proper education but they defended our country well, right? andres bonifacio is the best example of this one. super grabe kayo! for me, please please please make OUR COUNTRY PROUD first before you throw stones to the poor guy. you don't even know how to make a name out of yourself. hay! crab mentality it is. poor people - so blinded.

edward's little project

my mom encountered an accident around May. she had a fractured collar bone (left). she can not raise up her left hand and it's hard for her to do some household chores. unfortunately, it took a while before the bone started to regenerate - not until early this month. the doctor said that she can now remove her brace. she's so happy about the news.

now, next problem is how to move her affected arm as normal as possible. the muscles in her collar bone became stiff and its affecting the movement - just imagine the muscle is immobile for five freaking months. doctor taught her a couple of exercises and he advised us to set up an overhead pulley that she can use in her exercises.

so, how should I set it up? i am not the type of guy who can do some repairs and stuff. i would rather clean, cook and wash the dishes/clothes - it was my sister ruth whom we can count on that. ahaha! but this time, my mom needs it badly and i can't wait for my sister to have time. so i did a little research on how to start and the result is (drum roll please) ...

lunes nung natanggap ko ang tawag ni ma'am evelyn at sinabi nya yung isang bad news. iniwan na daw kami ni kuya ed. namatay daw si kuya ed dahil sa heart attack. grabe, nabigla ako nang husto dahil sobrang bata pa niya.

si kuya ed yung isang tipo ng tao na parang easy go lucky sa buhay. sobrang saya kapag nanjan sya. hhaayy. nung nakita ko si ate lot (asawa ni kuya ed), i hugged her. gusto kong umiyak pero alam ko umiiyak na sya. 

anyways, that's life. people come and go. nagkataon lang na nauna siyang matapos. kung saan man sya naroon alam ko he is with God.

last oct 2, nagkita-kita kami ni Pam, Edwin and Tina. it was Bea's (Pam and Edwin's only daughter) birthday celebration. nandun din si Tam-Tam (Tina's daughter). she's a big girl na. lol! pero mahiyain. she's so cute and adorable. mga katangian na di mo matatanggihan kapag humingi ng kung anong bagay. lol! i let her join some parlor games and tawa siya ng tawa dahil sobrang enjoy siya. lol...i love spending time with kids...

nung makita ko yung ibang tweets na nag-sasabing maganda daw ang colombiana, naengganyo akong mag-download ng movie. ang masasabi ko? oks naman siya kaso lang parang di kapani-paniwala yung ibang stunts at scenes. sa sobrang flawless siguro kaya sa tingin ko ay di na kapani-paniwala. ahehehe... cool stunts pero parang may kulang sa story...

natuwa ako nang husto sa setting dahil nakita ko ulit yung trains ng chicago. ahehehe... it's so cool to see some scenes na naging parte ng buhay mo.

baha, baha at baha pa rin...

nagulantang ang buong pilipinas sa pag-daan ng bagyong Pedring at Quiel. ang lakas ng ulan sa ilang parte ng pilipinas. malakas din ang hangin. dito sa cavite, malakas lang ang hangin, ang ulang dala ng bagyo ay di naman kadami. sa totoo lang di kami binaha sa lugar namin.

ang isa sa masasabi kong masamang nangyari ay ang pagpapakawala ng tubig mula sa ilang "dams" (lagayan ng tubig) sa bulacan. dahil dito, binaha ng husto ang karamihan sa mga bayan ng nasabing probinsya. sabi ng ilan ay ang baha na naranasan nila halos matindi pa sa bagyong Ondoy at Milenyo (mga malalakas na bagyo na nanalasa nung 2009 at 2007 dito sa pilipinas). ang matindi pa dito, sikat na ang araw ay mataas pa rin ang baha. di humupa ang baha ng ilang araw. naging problema ang sanitation at tirahan. napakaraming naging kawawang mga kababayan. marami ang nagpakita ng malasakit sa kapwa pilipino.

sa ibang bahagi, maraming mga tao ang nagpakita ng masasabi kong kababawan. sa halip na lumikas ay pinili ng ilan na manatili sa kanilang mga bahay dahil sa maiiwan nilang mga gamit at ari-arian. ano sa tingin nyo ang reaksyon ko?...

"what? di ba nila naiisip na kapag namatay sila ay wala na rin yung mga ari-arian nila?"

yun lang. alam kong mahirap magsalita ng tapos dahil sa wala ako sa kalagayan nila. pero alam ko ang dapat kong gawin. isalba ang sarili ko at ipag-pasa-Diyos na lang ang lahat. ang mga bagay sa mundo ay mabibili ko pa ngunit walang kapantay na salapi ang buhay ko.
