it's always better to do it in a hard way

it's always better to do it in a hard way.

if you really follow my blog, you'll know that i don't really cook before. my mom usually cooks for us so i have no exposure to it. but when i was assigned to chicago for a year, i have no choice but to cook. i found out that there is a "chef" inside me. lol! probably, its in the genes. anyways, this is a big impact in the way i cook. i prepare easy-to-prepare food - ready to cook food in cans, ready to fry shrimps with re-heatable sauce, etc. name it, i probably cooked it!

last year, i discovered this recipe - creamy pesto chicken - which uses a pre-condensed cream soup in a can. i love that recipe because it is easy to prepare and tastes awesome. a couple of weeks ago, i feel the urge of cooking that same recipe. so, the first thing to do is to go to grocery and buy necessary ingredients. i went to six groceries but that can is no where to be found. hhaaayyy so sad. it's unavailable. when i asked some peeps who work at the grocery, they'll just say - "ay yan lang po yung available, di ko po alam yung sinasabi nyo.". that's a bang in my face which makes me realize that I am here in Pinas. wow!

anyways, what's the lesson? don't rely to those too good to be true recipes. its better if you cook from scratch. it's always better to do it in a hard way. i remember my grandmother uses fresh tomatoes for mechado instead of tomato sauce. indeed, it tastes a lot better.

same thing is true to how we earn money. i don't want to elaborate. you know who you are.
