from this site.

dolphy...

dolphy is still @ makati med but he's getting stronger. so what's the buzz with dolphy? most of us only review/rekindle someone's life and achievement when the person is dead. but this time it's different. media's eyes are in makati med because of the great guy's critical condition.

picture from here.

well, i hope that he's going to live longer. dolphy is really a great actor and comedian. he's very humble. i haven't met him but i can see the sincerity in his eyes.

the philippine movie industry will be less colorful without dolphy.

mom went home...

fri. the doctor said, "wow, ok na po yung sugat nyo ah. recommend ko po kayo for discharge tomorrow!". well, in all fairness...my mom is a lot stronger this time. second time is a charm for her. lol!

picture with ruth while waiting to be discharged.

we went home a day earlier than i expected. ruth and joel decided to stay over the night and so be it! they slept in the couch and me - in the long john. its uncomfortable but very rewarding. the view is awesome.

i just paid, 65 PhP out of our total bill. thanks maxicare! kuya jaime fetched us and we ate our lunch @ north park. i was quite amazed that mom was able to walk - with a little help of course.

the next few days is a challenge for me. reason? i need to work from home and be the home buddy as well. i worked from home from mon to thu. we had our quick check up last wed. i was wearing multiple hats - nurse, a programmer, boy/helper and boyfriend. lol!

oh well. life. i am so tired but its very rewarding. my girlfriend sometime said that this is a rare opportunity - to be of service to my mom. and i think she's right. no more "reklamo". no more "angry words". its pure service out of love.

i love my mom! i love my izel! i love God!

bradley + mafia > manny pacquiao

so what? its in the news today about the WBO's review about the controversial Bradley-Pacquiao fight. as the world may know, bradley won over manny via split decision. netizens were so angry about the decision because all throughout 12 rounds, manny is clearly dominating the bradley (except for round 10). anyways, what's the meaning of review? relatively NOTHING! WBO board cannot reverse the decision in any way. judges' decision is final and irrevocable.

but for the eyes of the people who idolizes manny pacquiao as a boxer, it's a good sign. imagine, even the rich and famous manny gets this unfair decision? lol! wow. kidding aside, at lease truth behind the fight surfaces. no one is left hanging and thinking that manny should have won. its just a mafia thing. lol!

this picture is from here.

in any ways, i (personally) like manny's attitude. he became a good sport. he accepted that it's the decision of the judges - whether it's fair or not. filipino people salute him for that.

my thoughts on religious ban and divorce bill

i do not know if i wanted to be a congressman or a senator someday. current legislators today push bills that for their own good alone. nothing else. lemme discuss a few..

palatino's religious affairs. palatino is one of those party list representative of the lower house. he recently propose to ban religious activities/signs/artifacts in all public offices.

my comment: religion is deeply rooted in Filipino culture. every time there's public gathering, it starts with a simple prayer. every first friday, some local offices request for mass in their offices. reason is to save time. so what will happen if all of these were banned? nothing. if you really wanted to fulfill your religious obligation, you'll find a way to get it done. right?

however, starting a day with a prayer won't hurt people - believers/non-believers in general. will 5 mins of time hurt the government services? come on! even christians, they can do bible sharing or any activity. they need these to remind themselves that they should do their jobs well. as i said in my early statement, religion is already rooted in our culture which makes me think that this is complete mess.

palatino would like to make clear division of church and state. but is this really the best way to draw the borderline? i don't think so. i agree that division is vague. but this is not the best way to clear it.

my suggestion: take a break, have a kitkat. there are a lot of things to think of. other bills that are more important than removing a hand for us believers. this is a free nation. everyone is free to express his/her belief. we (catholics) are not forcing (non-catholics) to join us during eucharists or during prayers. non-catholics are free to do whatever they want just as long as they respect our faith. gets? so mr. palatino, if you think this is a good idea, i don't think so. YOU'RE THE VOICE OF THE YOUTH. so, why don't you concentrate your bills in preserving good moral and right conduct of today's youth? youth who became slaves of money because they wanted to help their parents? can you think of something better?

gusto mo lang siguro talagang kumandidato! i think you should be part of a party list called TRAPO - TRAditional POliticians. See full story >> Lawmaker wants religion out of government office.

divorce bill. senate is now pushing to revive a bill to make the divorce legal.

my comment: a big NO NO! i always believe that when you put a restriction off, people will get so much comfortable with it. so, if you put the divorce law in this land, more and more people will file a divorce. this will make the separation of men and women a lot easier. a marriage is not just a paper which can be nullified when you think that he's not worth it. it's completely unacceptable. people should be more vigilant and practice discernment in choosing the best of him/her. hindi ito sa pagwapuhan or pagandahan. marriage is a vocation. a God's plan. not our option.

i value marriage so much. it's God's way of showing how He loved us so much. two completely different people become one in the eyes of God. so divorce should really not be there, it will open a choice.

my suggestion: first, the RH bill. next, Divorce. i wouldn't be surprise if she will support cong. palatino's bill. please. RH Bill and Divorce is not a way to empower the women. but this will demoralize women's worth. a lot of people may not like my words but women plays a very important role in humanity. women have this so-called womb which houses the first few stages of life. senator pia should instead push laws that will strengthen and value women more. they i love senator pia. but i think she's doing this because she is separated with her hubby.

mommy is in the hospital

we're here again @ makati med. tomorrow is my mom's big day. she's going to have another minor operation at the back of her knee (alak-alakan). i know she's very nervous to think that she's going to have an incision but it's better to have it today than to wait for the cyst to grow bigger. it's not her first time. she used to have the same diagnosis more than a year ago.

my mom and my tita oma...

wifi. yes! we took not so cozy room but decent enough to have at least a wifi. thanks to my medical insurance. lol! at least i can wait do something while probably waiting. i dont like the smell of hospitals.  eewww...

the re-knowned artist - dolphy - is also here in the same hospital. unfortunately he's in a bad condition.

movies movies movies!

i'm back with my old habit of watching foreign films with subs. just this weekend, i watched three. here's what i have to say in each movie...

Bangkok Traffic Love Story. i downloaded the movie even before it was shown in ABS-CBN. the subs aren't good at that time so i deleted the movie from my hard drive. i totally forgot about it. i watched the filipino-dubbed piece in ABS. as expected, a lot of scenes were deleted and cut. anyways, the thought is still there. the movie is nice. the girl is not that good looking but she's good in acting. the movie is so hilarious yet sweet. it's not the kind of movie that people would love.

it's about a woman's way to win the heart of a man, in her own ways. kinda different plot, out of the traditional way. i'll give this one 5.15.

the picture is from here.

Hello Stranger. as in hello! this movie is one sure hit. the actress is cute which complements with young and free-spirited personality of the actor. the movie is cool, funny and the story is great. is it really possible for two people to fall in love without knowing each other's name? this movie tells it all. lovers should know each other by spending time and being honest on how they feel.

also, the movie plays around a weakness that most people have - its being afraid with commitment. it will be better if you watch the movie by yourself. it's awesome! i'll give it 7.5.

the picture is from here.

Never Ending Story. if you wanted to cry and laugh at the same time, watch this movie. sover, the story is dragging. even from the start, you'll already have an idea how it is difficult for these two people to treat their lives as normal as they could. the guy always say that their relationship is different for their time is ticking so fast. both of them have brain tumors but they have different perspective on how to spend their last few days. one would like to plan it, the others would like to freely live with it. sover, i love this. i'll give this an 8.0

TGIF

its not the usual Thank God It's Friday thing. this time it means -- Thank God I'm Filipino.

i am super proud that i am a Filipino. in fact, i wanted to die and work here in Pinas instead of working abroad. they say that in most of my blogs around 2009 when i was assigned in chicago for a while.

june 12, flags are all over the country. as in wow! at least once a year, i can say that most of us pinoys celebrate something for our country. questions though...

...why some filipinos do not know how to display our flag correctly?
...why do some filipinos just ignore the national anthem?
...why 9 out of 10 filipinos would like to move out of the country instead of staying here?

well, i am just wondering. and just asking.

anyways, i love the philippines!

won't last a day without you

i watched "won't last a day without you". it starred sarah geronimo and gerald anderson. the movie is simply good. it's so light that you can easily say "yes, it's true". what was kept in my mind were the lessons from george apostol.

this is from here.

lesson #3. the best, pag honest.

lesson #4. be consistent.

lesson #5. romance is a slow dance. dapat ang kiss, nagpapamiss. kasi, yung pag-hihintay, yun yung pamatay. its about that moment before the kiss. dun ngayon pumapasok ang moment ng romance. and you want that moment to linger. kaya dapat, eye contact. make her feel beautiful. na parang siya lang yung nakikita mo. pede mo siyang hawakan sa buhok, sa pisngi. make her feel safe, needed, loved.

in the end, as i expect it, george found herself falling in love with andrew apostol. "her heart says yes but my mind says no"-type of movie. to top them all, she's still in the moving-on stage after her boyfriend falls in love with her bestfriend. in the end, oscar (george's ex) talked to sarah over the radio station saying...

"if this love is your chance to be happy, sana lang wag mong pigilan ka nang sakit at galit ng yung nakaraan."

a true story of moving on and finding another love. lagi namang ganun ang pelikula pero ganun din naman kasi yung buhay.

love. love. love!

i'll give this movie 7.0.

MIB

it was my movie pals - albert and dan - who pushed to watch the movie. for me, the previous MIB's are quite boring. well, this MIB boring but this has a story. a touching story in the end. well, at lest for me its touching. lol! i have no idea that it was j's father who got killed in the end. a total twist. it's good. other than that, its all the same. same old plot. it's just weird that j moved on so fast. ahehehe...

i am not a fan of super sci-fi movies but this one is good enough. i'll give this 4.25.

mirriam is unfit?

for me, this is a classic example of crab mentality. lol! imagine people banging on a person who gave the country honor and prestige. grabe, when will people - specifically Filipinos - learn to accept the fact that everyone deserves respect.

i love the lady senator. she's witty and knows what she's doing. when she won a sit in ICC, oh my! i think  that really deserves an applause. imagine, a lawyer representing a filipinos internationally. and to think that this lawyer SPEAKS ENGLISH AND FILIPINO - ILONGGO AND TAGALOG. a true blooded filipina. then just because of her "nasty" behavior, some filipinos think that she's crazy? oh come on! mamon!

emotional problem. some people has this emotional problems. its hard for them to stop talking and be honest with his/her comments. i am one of those people. i am doing everything to control my emotions lately but i think mirriam is on her way to win over it. for me, as long as you know that you're right. why stop? what's wrong with being honest? people are different. stupid!

this picture is from here.

not guilty. the lady senator judge has high standards. so what? corona is no longer the CJ! come on people! move on. even if mirriam will say yes, he's still convicted. when i heard mirriam's explanation, i was almost convinced that corona should not impeached. she is correct in saying that the the evidences presented by the prosecutors are weak. the best evidence presented was corona himself - for admitting that he did not declare his huge amount of dollars in his SALN.

this picture is from here.

anyhow, mirriam is entitled with her opinion and so as this crabs. full story >> Asked about 'psych test challenge', Mirriam scolds journalists for giving in to black propaganda and Online movement seeks Santiago's removal from ICC.

How Lovely are Your Dwelling Places

I always love to sing. =) . Yes. Often than not, I am out of tune. LOL! Among the songs that I always love to hear (and sing) is How Lovely are Your Dwelling Places. It is simply "tugs tugs". It's comforting and it reaches to my soul. This is from Ps. 84.

How lovely are your dwelling places, O Lord.
O Lord of hosts;
my soul longs and yearns
for the courts of the Lord.
Even the sparrow finds a home,
the swallow, its nest,
near your altars, O Lord,
my King and my God, my King and my God.

Happy he who lives in your house,
he always sings your praise;
he always sings your praise.
Happy he who finds in you the strength
and decides in his hearts,
the holy journey.
Passing through the valley of weeping,
he turns it into a blessing,
his strength grows along the way,
till he reaches Zion, till he reaches Zion.
To me, a day in your courts
is worth more than a thousand,
than a thousand elsewhere.
Because to dwell at the gate of your house
is better than to live in the palaces of the mighty.
