kung maputi na ang buhok ko by noel cabangon

whenever i watch lorenzo's time, i always hear this song. the song was originally sung by sharon cuneta (i think). the teleserye's version was by nyoy volante. the video below is by noel cabangon which is i think a better version than nyoy.

anyways, i really love classic filipino songs like this one. it's very pleasant to the ears and you could easily relate into it. hope that songs in this generation is something like that - catches the audience across all generation.

hope you like it!

i am glad i found one

only few people can change our lives. mostly, its based from our values instilled to us when we were kids. our parents, the people around us and environment which we lived in are some factors that molded each and everyone of us to be who we are.

aside from that, God has given me a bonus. He gave me a woman who i can share my time with. He made me feel that i am loved by this woman. i am hoping that i can spend my few (probably 1 or 40 - God knows how many) more years in this world with her. a woman named Florizel.

i still remember the thoughts that i have in mind when i finally realized that i am in loved with her. we were together, beside a seashore. i popped up a question asking if she is dating somebody. it took me a bag of courage to ask that. and i can still remember how i feel when i heard her say "no". lol! here are my thoughts...

it felt like the moon, stars and sun bowed down...
the waves from the sea kept quiet
it allowed the cold wind to whisper into my ears...
i heard, "she is the one"

everything is perfect and beautiful. and from that day on, i can feel it. she's the one.

GMA is free

former president GMA is a free woman. after the RTC's decision to make her electoral sabotage case bailable, she posted one at once. 1 M. oh my! 1 M should have helped so many people in need. so many people who consider themselves the poorest of the poor.

i am not questioning the judge's decision but i am questioning on the action that PGMA after posting her bail. in one of the radio programs that i am listening, one man asked -- "bakit daw si GMA dumiretso sa bahay? akala daw ba nya ay di maayos ang pakiramdam. bakit di daw tumigil sa hospital?" -- which makes sense. right?

she proved that she just wanted to get out of that effing hospital arrest. people swamped over her with different reaction. some loved it, some hates it so much. in fact, one of his lawyers were mobbed because they hate him so much. lol! this only proves that pres. aquino cannot win the heart of everyone.  some loves the former president, some hates GMA.

anyways, GMA's freedom is just a proof that judges aren't really being ruled by aquino government. i can feel it. and to tell you honestly, i am happy with it. i don't like GMA. i think she's one of the most corrupt president of all time. but i like it because of the fact that no one is still above the law - even if it's  the president's wish. proud to be pinoy!

one thing that i hate about necktie is that i don't know how to tie it around my neck. lol! below is a picture that shows simple procedures on how to do it!

white collar

if there is something that i miss watching in american television, it should have been - WHITE COLLAR. i love the story of white collar. i even downloaded all season - 1 to 3. ooopppss! i mean, got a copy of all three seasons.

even before i enjoyed watching burn notice, white collar has been my favorite ever since. and when i heard that it was renewed in USA (american channel) for 4th season, i felt so happy.

the picture is from here.

for those who's unaware, neal caffrey (matt bomer) is a con-man. he's great in everything that he does. he can speak 8 different languages - including conversational swahili. here in the philippines, he can be called as "palos" - which means he can escape to barely everything. barely because there was one white collar crime agent (white collar is a branch of FBI that deals with white collar crimes). who caught him twice, it was peter burke (tim dekay). he has this problem of trusting his neal. trusting? yes. they became partners in solving some white collar crimes. see, peter and neal became partners - neal knows a lot of different things in white collar jobs while peter has the resources and proper intelligence to get things done.

i so love this series!

ferdie, it's raining

typhoon ferdie makes realize that i haven't heard anything from my friend - Ferdie - lately. ferdie and i used to be closed. we had the same company for our OJT and he even stayed in our house during his shift - he lives in quezon city while we had the training here in cavite. we somehow "ended" the communication when i chose to help another friend. it's complicated but i am hopelessly romantic. lol! too much for it...

it's already been three days. raining cats and dogs. the streets of our little and humble town is already flooded. well, i kinda like it. rainy days mean colder temperature. i hate hot weather.

picture from here.

what i hate about the rainy season is strong winds and too much rain - well that's what the rainy season is for, right? lol! if you go outside our house, its already flooded. and because of the wind direction, water is also pouring inside our dirty kitchen. we have plans to renovate it but no source yet. lol! i still have a couple of priorities in place. my mom knows that. i am hoping she understands.

goodbye dolphy

dolphy is already dead. we can't change that. and the rumors about medals, distinctions, awards and other recognition may not be too late but should not be questioned at all.

i love dolphy. for me, he may not be funny like he used to be but he's still a head turner. he still amazes me. he's known with comedic acts and his funny ways of entertaining people but every lines that he throw is still funny.

nonetheless, his life may be a little bit off - specially his love life. he has 18 children with 6 partners. for some people, this may be considered as tugs tugs. but you cannot put a good man down. his philanthropic acts, his professionalism and his passion towards his craft is irreplaceable.

anyways, philippines is so grateful that we have dolphy us one of our national artists - no matter what other people may claim.

pilgrimage with my community 2012 v.02

one thing that i noticed about my recent pilgrimage is that we're quite at ease. reasons?

...call time is 5.30. most of the people, including the responsibles, arrived late. we found ourselves on the road by about 7 am. imagine, from 5.30 it became 7 am. i hate being late. but God is teaching me to be patient. in 'real' pilgrimage, we can't do that. time is gold.

...cr break is overused. before leaving our beloved hometown, 'someone' went down the bus saying 'iihi muna ako'. after 5 mins, the bus driver arrived and asked if we're ready. i informed him that we're still waiting for one last person. mr. driver went back to his post. after a while, 'someone' went back asking, 'o, asan ang driver'. duh!

after 45 mins, the bus loaded some gasoline. 'someone' went downstairs again to pee.

while in the express way, she went down again to pee.

in a 'real' pilgrimage, we cannot do that. time is gold.

...we can't stop the bus to buy food. lol! grabe, instead of going directly to the destination, we even stopped in a food complex along the south super highway to buy mcdo. why? because another person is hungry. they haven't taken up breakfast yet. in 'real' pilgrimage, we can't do that. time is gold.

well, i am not making 'reklamo'. i am just stating a fact. but i love the fact that i am still with my community. no matter who they are, i still love them!

i enjoyed the time with them specially at the resort. i played with the kids. had a little bonding time with my girlfriend and with the entire people!

pilgrimage with my community 2012 v.01

our community had its own mini version of pilgrimage. together with father nel and father ollie, we went to lipa city - our lady of mediatrix with the carmelite sisters. we saw the "supposed" apparition site. though it wasn't really declared as valid apparition, i can feel something good. here's a short story of the apparition...

According to the account, on September 12, 1948, Sr.Teresita Castillo noticed a vine shaking without the presence of wind. Then she heard a woman's voice who had told her to visit the garden for 15 consecutive days, to bow, pray and eat the garden grass. The next day, September 13 at 5pm, Teresita came to the spot, knelt down and intended to say the Hail Mary prayer. In the middle of the prayer, wind came and the garden vine moved when a beautiful lady appeared. On September 14, rose petals began to shower within the monastery. Some of the religious sisters living in the convent began to notice rose petals outside their hallways.
Again at 5:00 pm, the lady appeared once more at the vine and said "I wish this place to be blessed tomorrow." "At what time, Mother?" asked Teresita. "Anytime your Mother Prioress wants, my child. I forbid you to forget the incidents of these fifteen days." Then the lady vanished. On the other hand, Mother Mary Cecilia of Jesus, the Mother Prioress, decided to consult His Excellency, the Most Reverend Alfredo Obviar, the auxiliary bishop of Lipa and spiritual director of Carmel, on what to do on the alleged apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The bishop instructed the Mother Prioress to demand from the ady a proof that she is from Heaven.
Days after the first shower of rose petals, total blindness affected the Teresita. The Mother Prioress heard a woman's voice telling her to kiss the postulant's eyes will recover her sight. One day, in the presence of Bishop Obviar, the mother prioress lifted the veil of the postulant and imparted a kiss to Teresita's eyes. Immediately, the girl recovered her sight. Bishop Obviar no longer doubted the claims of her apparition.
from here.

picture in the apparition site.

i prayed for a stronger relationship with my girlfriend. =) . we had a short eucharist in a chapel. it was a quick one. father ollie presided the mass while father nel gave a short homily. he shared accounts about his difficulties in his place in canada. a best example of "be strong people" story. i may say that his homily is good. full of essence and idealism. there is indeed a difference between the homily of an older priest than younger ones. both are best in their respective thoughts.

two of the most important women in my life beside me during the eucharist.

lorenzo's time

i can't get over it! in all fairness, abs-cbn continues to deliver quality teleserye. after budoy, here comes lorenzo's time.

the plot and pacing are fantastic. i agree that this is somehow fictional and (as of this writing) far from happening but the "catch" is there. a guy who is head over heels in love with his childhood sweetheart who can't get over from the fact that they are no longer fit for one another. and a chick who's willing to do everything just for the sake of her only daughter while trying to move on with her broken relationship with her daughter's father.

unlike any other "childhood sweetheart" story, lorenzo's time is different. lorenzo and katkat can no longer be together - that's for sure. they can no longer continue on their life together because lorenzo is trapped in a child's body while katkat has already grown into a beautiful woman. will they end up together? will katkat end up with the father of her daughter? i don't know.

to top everything, it teaches a lesson that everyone knows - time is gold. wow! everyone knows that but only a few tries to digest it.

picture is from here.

the theme song is good as well. it was sung by martin nievera - time of your life. often, the song by nyoy volante is being played - kahit maputi na ang buhok ko. its awesome! i see myself growing old with my girlfriend - kahit maputi na ang buhok ko...lol!

goodbye my friend

it has been 5 years. oh men!

my reebok shoes (trail) is now a record holder. so far, it is my longest running buddy. he used to be my gym buddy as well. i just love it! but like any other love, you need to know when to let go. it is so hard to say goodbye to a friend like my shoes. i may look stupid to some folks but i really love this one.

at this time, i have no "way" to buy one. let's say, i have money but other priorities in place. lol! my lunar lite is next. i can feel that he's saying goodbye as well. anyways, good thing is that i am on "diet" with running so i can relieve my urge of buying one. lol!

here's a picture of my shoes >>

the vow

if there is one movie that i can recommend right at this very moment, it would have been "The Vow". its with Channing Tatum (Leo) and Rachel McAdams (Paige). i should admit that channing did a good acting on it. he pulled me into Leo's place. the way he portrayed is literally above average. rachel, on the other hand, made me think that she lost her memory. i can feel her anxieties and her helplessness to regain everything.

one thing that touches me the most is that the movie was inspired by true events. it's so nice to see how love makes so people a little stupid at start yet that stupidity will eventually move the most mysterious part of our body - the heart. in the end of the movie, it says that Paige never regained her memory but still ended up with Leo. imagine what our hearts can do to us.

this is from here.

some of the unforgettable lines that i am surely hit:

Paige: i hope one day i can love you the way that you loved me.
Leo: you figured it out once, you'll figure it again.

Leo: if we're meant to be together, we would be together.

Paige's Mom: i chose to stay with your dad for all the things that he had done right, and not to leave him for the one thing that he had done wrong.

it was really awesome. i know it's quite early to say that i can be like leo but i will surely do my best to be like him for my own girl.

lastly, the movie was shot in chicago! one of places that i loved the most.

i can give it a 8.0.

a "so-so" korean movie that i watched over the weekend. there's no highlight and you'll easily know what will happen next. dead airs. irrelevant to the theme of the story. i think i wasted my time watching this movie. lol!

this is from here.

a "you and me against the world" type of romance ended up with "i am alone, where are you?". check out how he moved on.

the actor is good though, but the plot and how was it written is not so good. i'll rate this movie 3.0.

last meal

yesterday, i went to sta. cruz to visit a doctor that my sister suggested. doctor? for what? yes i am sick but looks great. people call this asymptomatic - a patient is sick but experiences no symptoms. i got this since 2003 - as far as i know. i was quite devastated when i heard about it but God pulled me from above. so here i am, moving on from dark past.

and the doctor advised us to do the following:

a. take up medicine. i bought me a couple of medicine.
b. no "long" running/lifting heavy weights. no marathon or long distance run. i can run for 15 to 30 mins brisk walking/running but no extensive run.
c. eat right. and by eating right means the following - no beef or pork. no processed food. no oil. eat fruits and vegetables. eat wheat bread.

it's kinda hard for me. especially if i am going to work but i need to do this for my own sake. before doing my "this is it" diet, i ate my "last meal". lol!

hopefully, i'll get well soon enough. also, i hope that i'll get thinner as well. i know i will. i believe.

robinson's buddy run...

it is first of july. my second run for 2012. i'll be running with my buddy - RJ - as in THE RJ Idang.  and you know what? he is late for 5 AM. lol! luckily, i told him that its going to be 5 or else it's going to be a disaster. anyways, it's my first buddy run. i had a lot of fun.

our time is neither good nor bad. important thing is we had so much fun. in the picture, i had my powerades - so much fun right? lol! it was rj's first "official" run as well. and as promised, i did not leave him behind. after the run, we ate at pancake house.

my first buddy run is awesome. no pressures of beating my PR. no pressures coming from behind. it's pure fun...
